Key Resource Centre
An Introduction
The Government of India, Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Department of Drinking Water Supply has identified Uttarakhand Academy of Administration as the Key Resource Centre for the whole country which has since been establish in April 2005 under the Centre for Good Governance (CGG) as the national premier training institute to support and conduct Information Education and Communication (IEC) strategy & HRD as well as capacity building programmes of different stakeholders at state level and CCDU established for Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Programmes in the States

Our Vision
The vision of Key Resource Centre is to become a self-sustained, pro-active and leading National Apex Training Institute in the area of quality capacity building training, research and advisory, services in the field of Drinking Water & Sanitation. KRC'�s major thrust is in the areas of organizing training courses, conducting observation study tours and organizing workshops with a stress on adopting a participatory approach.

Objectives
The main objectives of Key Resource Centre are:

  •     To build the capacity of key resource persons/potential trainers identified by the State CCDUs/SWSMs at the state level for Swajaldhara & TSC programmes.
  •     To build the capacity of key programme managers and resource persons of each district covered under Swajaldhara & TSC programme.
  •     To provide technical guidance in establishing and functioning in the States for Communication and Capacity Development Unit (CCDU).
  •     To extend technical guidance for implementation of reform initiatives; and
  •     To organize orientation workshops, meetings and training programmes for the main stakeholders at the state level.
  •     Documentation and publication of Case studies/Success Stories related to water supply and sanitation sector as IEC material.

Functions of KRC

  •     Organizing training for key programme managers at their respective institution.
  •     Organizing field visits for district TSC / Swajaldhara functionaries with the aim of sharing success stories.  
  •     Extending technical guidance to the state's Communication and Capacity
  •     Development Units (CCDU) and assist in the development of state / district specific training modules.
  •     Extending their expertise and guidance to the TSC / Swajaldhara districts by making field visits and getting them documented.
  •     Documentation of various success stories
