District Ganga Planning (DGP) Training” (GIZ)

The Urban Development Cell, CGG, Dr. Raghunandan Singh Tolia, Uttarakhand Academy of Administration conducted a two-day training program on District Ganga Planning (DGP) Training” (GIZ) from 25 to 27 November, 2025 in Academy. The Programme was sponsored by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). A total of 39 participants from 10 districts (3 from Uttarakhand and 7 from Uttar Pradesh). These are Pauri Garhwal, Tehri Garhwal, Uttar Kashi, Kannauj, Ghazipur, Muzaffarnagar, Bhadohi, Pilibhit, Ballia and Meerut.

Programme Objective:

  • To train participants for the preparation of the District Ganga Plan (DGP) at the basin/sub-basin level.

 

  • The participants would use a holistic and integrated river basin approach (RBM cycle) to prepared 5- year  management cycle.  

 

  • Training participants: representatives from 10 DGCs – Garhwal, Tehri Garhwal, Uttar Kashi, Kannauj, Ghazipur, Muzaffarnagar, Bhadohi, Pilibhit, Ballia and Meerut.

Dr. Raghunandan Singh Tolia Uttarakhand Academy of Administration UAoA (Uttarakhand Academy of Administration) originally established as Officers' Training School (O.T.S.) at Allahabad in 1951, was shifted to Nainital in 1971. In 1974 the institution was renamed as Administrative Training Institute (A.T.I.) and in 1988 it was raised to the status of Uttar Pradesh Academy of Administration (UPAA). In the year 2000, after creation of Uttaranchal as a separate state, the academy was named as Uttaranchal Academy of Administration (UAoA). Now Academy is known as Dr. Raghunandan Singh Tolia Uttarakhand Academy of Administration (DRTSUAoA).
