The Academy organizes various courses which includes :

 
  • Foundation Courses of 12 weeks for Officers selected through Combined State Civil Services.
  • Professional Courses for IAS, IFS, PCS (Executive Branch) of State Cadre.
  • Induction Course of 01 month for all other officers/personnel selected through the Public Service Commission of Uttarakhand.
The Foundation & Induction Course is basically aimed at equipping the newly recruited officers with latest information about challenges and opportunities available in the newly set-up state of Uttarakhand; developing managerial skills among newly recruited officers with a view to ensure the delivery of quality services from them in their respective areas; and ensuring their sound understanding of the socio-economic, cultural and political context of the governance in the State of Uttarakhand. While Professional Course has emphasis on Departmental/Local Laws and departmental functioning.

 


With a view to cater to training needs of different types of clientele comprising Officers of State Government as well as Officers from Government of India, the Academy organizes number of 'In-Service programmes' on various themes for officers from All India Services and State Services. These include one-week theme based training programmes for IAS & IPS officers of various seniority. Along with these high profile programmes Academy also organizes various DoPT/Ministries sponsored training programmes on Information Technology, Disaster Management & Mitigation, Financial Management, Office Management, Urban Development, Gender Issues, R.T.I., I.P.R. etc. for State Level Officers & Elected Functionaries.

The Academy has accorded high priority to the Development of Trainers. Trainers' Development Programme mainly includes training programmes, which are directly related to develop trainer's skills like Direct Trainer Skills, Design of Training, and Management of Training, Evaluation of Training and Training Need Analysis.

About

Dr. Raghunandan Singh Tolia Uttarakhand Academy of Administration UAoA (Uttarakhand Academy of Administration) originally established as Officers' Training School (O.T.S.) at Allahabad in 1951, was shifted to Nainital in 1971. In 1974 the institution was renamed as Administrative Training Institute (A.T.I.) and in 1988 it was raised to the status of Uttar Pradesh Academy of Administration (UPAA). In the year 2000, after creation of Uttaranchal as a separate state, the academy was named as Uttaranchal Academy of Administration (UAoA). Now Academy is known as Dr. Raghunandan Singh Tolia Uttarakhand Academy of Administration (DRTSUAoA).
