Reducing Risk & Building Resilience : Capacity Building in the Mountain States
A National workshop on “Reducing Risk & Building Resilience : Capacity Building in the Mountain States” was jointly organized by National Institute of Disaster Management Ministry of Home Affairs, Delhi and Dr. R.S. Tolia Uttarakhand Academy of Administration, Nainital on 20-21 October, 2022 at Dr. R.S.Tolia Uttarakhand Academy of Administration, Nainital to set up a Centre for Excellence on Disaster Management. In this workshop hilly states like Himanchal, Sikkim, Assam, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Meghalaya, Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand State took the part.
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Shri Puskar Singh Dhami is inaugurated this workshop online. On this occasion the Director General of Academy Shri B.P. Pandey, IAS, Executive Director, Shri Taj Hassan, IPS, Prof. Santosh Kumar, NIDM, Hon’ble Vidhayika Smt. Sarita Arya, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. N.K. Joshi, Kamoun University, Nainital, Padma Bhushan , Ramon Magsaysay Award, Shri Chandi Prasad Bhatt, Prof Shekher Pathak also presented their views, regarding Disaster Risk Reduction.
All session were conducted through panel discussion. On this occasion all representatives of the states presented their views. At the end of the workshop declaration was presented by Prof. Santosh Kumar on the basis of the points drawn in the workshop. A total of 368 participants participated in the workshop. The detailed report of the workshop will be sent separately to the Hon’ble chief Minister of Uttarakhand for kind perusal and information.
